Low water hardness could stain or etch the pool surface and corrode equipment, calcium hardness increaser raises water hardness level. Prevents foaming and equipment corrosion. 6 Lb. of calcium hardness increaser per 10,000 gallons of water will raise calcium hardness level by 50 ppm (parts per million).
